CHIPPEWA FALLS (WQOW) - Representative Derrick Van Orden was in Chippewa Falls Monday morning to announce $600,000 of federal funds will be allocated towards a new county morgue.

Van Orden was joined by county leaders including Sheriff Travis Hakes and County Administrator Andy Albarado. The county morgue closed when HSHS and St. Joseph's closed nearly two years ago.

SPARTA, Wis. (WKBT) -- Monroe County will receive $8.4 million in federal funding to improve critical roadways, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Congressman Derrick Van Orden announced during a visit to Sparta.

The funding represents a significant investment in the county's transportation infrastructure and was secured through a federal funding project sponsored by Van Orden. The money will focus on improving safety and enhancing freight movement on key roadways throughout Monroe County.

SPARTA, Wis. (WXOW) — Congressman Derrick Van Orden and U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy made two important stops in Sparta Friday, March 13 focusing on the future of the Monroe highway and the Wisconsin trucking industry.

Their first stop was at the Monroe County Highway Shop. They discussed the recent $8.4 million investment aimed at upgrading Monroe County highways.

Van Orden also took the time to address the war in Iran at the event.

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) -- Congressman Derrick Van Orden visited with small business owners Tuesday to discuss federal tax legislation designed to provide relief for Main Street enterprises and family-owned businesses.

Van Orden met with business owners at Roadside Ice Cream and Diner in Eau Claire to outline provisions in the Working Families Tax Cuts, legislation that would raise limits and reduce delays on business investments.

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - Republican Representative Derrick Van Orden visited Roadside Diner in Eau Claire on Tuesday to talk with local business owners.

This visit comes as the first wave of tax refunds are being sent out, and Rep. Van Orden wanted to hear directly from the people who benefitted from the expansive One Big Beautiful Bill that was signed into law last year. For the area business owners, there was some high praise for raising the reporting threshold for miscellaneous income, no tax on overtime or tips, and loosening federal regulations.

A four-mile stretch of road in need of repair in the Town of Mt. Ida will receive $175,000 as part of the Community Project Funding FY26 (fiscal year 2026).

Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District Representative Derrick Van Orden, a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, recently announced that over $22 million will be invested into communities in the 3rd district as part of his Community Project Funding (CPF) request.

Edge applauds Reps. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) and Josh Harder (D-CA) in their bipartisan effort to return the amount of milk available to WIC families to the maximum monthly allowance for low-income moms and babies to previous levels. The bill, known as the Protecting Mothers and Infants Access to Milk Act, would restore the maximum daily limit of dairy products allowed in the WIC program previously reduced through a proposed rule put forth by the Biden Administration.
