Explanation: This project will replace an aging fire apparatus. Replacing their current apparatus would significantly increase water capacity, improve response effectiveness, and enhance safety for firefighters and the community. 

 

Project Name: Dunn County Public Safety Communications Upgrade

Proposed Recipient: Dunn County

Address of Recipient: 615 Stokke Parkway, Menomonie, WI 54751

Amount of the Request: $218,155.64

Explanation: The purpose of this project is to enhance emergency radio communications throughout Dunn County, by adding repeater sites on the western and eastern sides of the county. This will benefit first responder agencies within and around Dunn County for years to come.

 

Project Name: Chippewa Valley Technical College Community Clinic

Proposed Recipient: Chippewa Valley Technical College

Amount of the Request: $682,845

Explanation: This project would support the development of a community clinic that expands clinical training capacity for healthcare students while providing affordable imaging and therapy services to residents. 

 

Project Name: City of Eau Claire Regional Public Safety Facility 

Proposed Recipient: City of Eau Claire

Address of Recipient: 203 S Farwell Street, Eau Claire, WI 54601

Amount of the Request: $3,243,000

Explanation: This project would support construction of a 13,000-square-foot regional public safety training facility that replaces the obsolete structure and establishes a permanent indoor simulation center to enhance de-escalation, crisis response, and coordinated public safety training for Eau Claire and surrounding agencies.

 

Project Name: Western Technical College Saving lives FY27 Program

Proposed Recipient: Western Technical College

Amount of the Request: $1,000,000

Explanation: This project would support a health & public safety simulation city & expansion of emergency vehicle training course. This would serve new and continuing students in certificate, technical diploma, degree programs and the law enforcement and jail academies.

 

Project Name: Grant Regional Health Center New Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner

Proposed Recipient: Grant Regional Health Center, Inc.

Amount of the Request: $900,000

Explanation: This project would support the purchase of a modern CT scanner that enables advanced imaging—such as cardiac, stroke, and lung studies. This upgrade improves diagnostic accuracy, shortens time to treatment, reduces patient travel burdens, and expands local access to high-quality imaging, strengthening patient care and community health outcomes.

 

Project Name: Potosi-Tennyson Wastewater Facility Upgrades

Proposed Recipient: Potosi Tennyson Sewer Commission

Amount of the Request: $1,500,000

Explanation: This project would fund critical upgrades to the Potosi-Tennyson wastewater treatment plant, replacing aging infrastructure with efficient treatment processes that ensure regulatory compliance, protect local water resources, and maintain affordable operating costs for residents and businesses.

 

Project Name: City of Black River Falls Public Safety Building

Proposed Recipient: City of Black River Falls

Amount of the Request: $7,550,000

Explanation: This project would provide an up-to-date, well equipped Fire, EMS, and Police station to provide critical services that contribute to the safety and well-being of people in the community. 

 

Project Name: City of Elroy Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

Proposed Recipient: City of Elroy

Address of Recipient: 1717 Omaha Street, Elroy, WI 53929

Amount of the Request: $7,000,000

Explanation: This project would complete a plant upgrade to modernize its aged wastewater treatment infrastructure, increase resilience to extreme flooding, and ensure safe, affordable service for a vulnerable rural population by replacing obsolete systems, expanding capacity, and protecting public health and the regional watershed.

 

Project Name: City of La Crosse Well 27 to Mitigate PFAS Impacts

Proposed Recipient: City of La Crosse

Address of Recipient: 400 La Crosse Street, La Crosse, WI 54601

Amount of the Request: $960,000

Explanation: This project would complete the construction of Well 27 to replace source water capacity lost due to four wells impacted by PFAS. 

 

Project Name: Arbor Hills Water Treatment/Filtration Project

Proposed Recipient: Town of Shelby

Address of Recipient: 2800 Ward Ave, La Crosse, WI 54601

Amount of the Request: $2,433,000

Explanation: This project would add a water treatment/filtration to reduce contaminants and provide a more reliable system.

 

Project Name: Apple Valley Subdivision Roads Reconstruction

Proposed Recipient: Town of Onalaska

Address of Recipient: N5589 Commerce Rd, Onalaska, WI 54650

Amount of the Request: $1,660,000

Explanation: This project would support the reconstruction of deteriorating roads by replacing failing pavement, improving the road base, and upgrading drainage infrastructure to restore safe, reliable access for residents, school buses, emergency services, and other local traffic.

 

Project Name: Cashton Fire District New Station/ Facility Replacement

Proposed Recipient: Cashton Fire District

Address of Recipient: 723 Main Street, Cashton, WI 54619

Amount of the Request: $3,500,000

Explanation: The project will fund a replacement fire station/emergency services facility (housing the fire department and volunteer rescue squad) for the Cashton Fire District and offer an emergency operations center, when needed, for the region. 

 

Project Name: City of Tomah Sewer and Water Infrastructure Improvements

Proposed Recipient: City of Tomah

Address of Recipient: 819 Superior Ave, Tomah, WI 54660

Amount of the Request: $2,000,000

Explanation: This project would provide the needed drinking water and sewer facilities, along with associated street and sidewalk improvements, to this historically underserved area to help provide the first significant location of new housing in the City in almost two decades.

 

Project Name: City of Prescott Well #4 Treatment Expansion

Proposed Recipient: City of Prescott

Address of Recipient: 800 Borner St N, Prescott, WI 54021

Amount of the Request: $2,235,961

Explanation: This project would support the installation of PFAS treatment equipment at Well #4, ensuring the City of Prescott can remove PFAS compounds from its municipal water supply and provide safe, reliable drinking water to residents while meeting current and anticipated federal and state drinking water standards. 

 

Project Name: La Valle Pharmacy Expansion

Proposed Recipient: Reedsburg Area Medical Center

Amount of the Request: $216,795

Explanation: This project would support the development of a new community pharmacy to expand access to timely, high quality medication services for local residents. 

 

Project Name: Village of Trempealeau Public Safety Facility 

Proposed Recipient: Village of Trempealeau

Amount of the Request: $3,243,982

Explanation: This project would fund to construct a modern police facility to address current station deficiencies and ensure public safety to residents. 

 

Project Name: Village of Coon Valley US 14 Infrastructure Resiliency Project

Proposed Recipient: Village of Coon Valley

Address of Recipient: 205 Anderson Street, Coon Valley, WI 54623

Amount of the Request: $1,500,194

Explanation: This project will assist the Village of Coon Valley in replacing aging  infrastructure located under US 14 in conjunction with the WIDOT replacing the roadway.

 

Project Name: Village of De Soto Wastewater Treatment Facility Replacement

Proposed Recipient: Village of De Soto

Address of Recipient: 115 Houghton Street, De Soto, WI 54624

Amount of the Request: $2,000,000

Explanation: This project would complete a new, modern wastewater facility capable of meeting effluent limits and meet limits set by the DNR. 

 

Project Name: City of Viroqua Fire Apparatus Replacement

Proposed Recipient: City of Viroqua

Amount of the Request: $1,040,000

Explanation: This project would replace an aging fire engine and water tender to satisfy community needs while increasing safety for firefighters and the community.
