Internships
Internships are offered year-round in both the Washington, D.C. and La Crosse offices. Students should submit their application below or send it directly to the Internship Coordinator, Clark Agnew (clark.agnew@mail.house.gov).
Applicants must include a resume, cover letter, references, and what semester (Spring, Summer, or Fall) that they would like to intern. Interviews are typically in early March for the Summer, August for the Fall, and November for Spring.

Washington, D.C. Office
Washington, D.C. internship responsibilities include answering phones, guiding Capitol tours, writing letters, and assisting with office management. Interns will learn about the legislative process and many other functions of a congressional office.
Internship hours are flexible to accommodate students’ hectic course schedules, but generally run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Interns can be paid depending on hours worked. Candidates should be interested in public policy and be detail-oriented, motivated, organized, and willing to learn. Wisconsin ties are preferred but not required, and candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
La Crosse Office
La Crosse District Office internship responsibilities include answering phones, writing letters, assisting with media clips, and helping with constituent casework and district-based projects.
Interns should possess strong communication skills and be able to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment. Students from all backgrounds and academic majors are welcome to apply.
