WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden’s (WI-03) Veterans Education Transparency and Training (VETT) Act passed the House. The VETT Act simplifies the process for veterans enrolling in higher education by modifying educational form requirements and establishing an online portal through the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to serve as a comprehensive resource center for trainings available to veterans through School Certifying Officials (SCOs).

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) and Congressman Chris Pappas (D-NH) introduced the Expedited Equitable Relief Act, which will require Veterans Affairs (VA) to accelerate the delivery of equitable relief for veterans, their dependents, and beneficiaries to no later than 120 days after an administrative error is identified. The introduction of this legislation comes after Kimberly Mozuch, a Third District constituent, was left with significant debt following a VA administrative error on her husband’s medical bills and was advised she would have to wait up to a year to have the debt cleared.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) sent a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin requesting the Department of Defense (DoD) to investigate, address, and combat left-wing extremism among active duty servicemembers and veterans. The letter comes after the DoD began efforts to root out extremist behavior within the Armed Forces and after a self-identified anarchist servicemember in the U.S. Air Force engaged in an act of self-immolation outside of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C.
