Van Orden Announces FY25 Community Project Funding Requests

May 17, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) announced his Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Community Project Funding (CPF) requests for Wisconsin’s Third District. CPFs provide an additional avenue for Members of Congress to send federal dollars back to their respective districts to help fund important projects that directly impact the community.

“There is a lot of bureaucratic red tape in Washington, but Community Project Funding is something Congress does right,” said Congressman Van Orden. “Rural districts, like the one I represent, oftentimes have many critical issues to resolve, but they simply do not have the local funding to get it done. That is why, after many discussions with community stakeholders, I am proud to submit these CPF requests on behalf of the Third District. I look forward to continue advocating for these important projects and getting dollars back to the people of Wisconsin’s Third.”

The FY25 CPF requests made by Rep. Van Orden are as follows:

  • The Boscobel and Rural Fire Department to provide an up-to-date, well-equipped, Fire/EMS station.
  • The Cashton Fire Department to fund a replacement fire station/emergency services facility.
  • The Chippewa County Mortuary to reduce the financial burden currently being placed on the county for mortuary services and reduce the cost for law enforcement agencies.

  • The Family Health Center of Marshfield to establish comprehensive healthcare services.
  • The Genoa Harmony Fire Department to replace their current fire engine.
  • The Monroe County CTH ET Multimodal & Freight Corridor to address safety concerns, enhance the movement of freight, provide safe access to agriculture, industrial, commercial, recreational and residential interests, enhance access to the Tomah VA Medical Center and the U.S. Army’s Fort McCoy, and provide multimodal opportunities.
  • The Prairie du Chien Wastewater Treatment Facility to complete a plant upgrade.
  • The Township of Mount Ida to improve roads.

In the 116th Congress, guidelines were established for Community Project Funding submissions, including a cap on the number of projects a member may submit and the requirement that each project have a federal nexus. This was done to restore integrity to the appropriations process after years of wasteful spending
