Van Orden Statement on ICC’S Illegitimate Arrest Warrant Requests for Israeli Officials

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) released the following statement after the International Criminal Court (ICC) announced its request for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant:

“Hamas’ unprovoked attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 was a 21st-century Holocaust, and Israel has every right to defend itself from these savages. The ICC’s call for arrest warrants on Israeli officials is baseless and conflates a recognized terrorist organization with a sovereign nation protecting its people. The ICC has no jurisdiction over Israel, and they should retract their request for these arrest warrants immediately. I continue to stand strongly with Israel and the Jewish people as they rightfully work to eradicate Hamas.”
