Van Orden Votes to Restore Integrity in Federal Elections

July 10, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Derrick Van Orden (WI-03) voted in support of H.R. 8281 – the SAVE Act. The SAVE Act amends the National Voter Registration Act to require states to obtain documentary proof of U.S. citizenship and utilize in-person identification when registering an individual to vote in a federal election and require states to establish a program to remove non-citizens from their existing voter rolls.

“Eighty percent of Americans believe that only U.S. citizens should be voting in U.S. elections,” said Congressman Van Orden. “The SAVE Act will go a long way in ensuring that this is the case.”

The SAVE Act passed the House 221-198. To read the full bill text, click here.
