May 25, 2026

FALL CREEK, Wis. (WEAU) - Monday morning saw a touching Memorial Day service in Fall Creek.

Fall Creek American Legion Post 376 hosted the program at Trinity Cemetery on North State Street.

The program included a wreath laying, musical tributes, a firing squad salute, and Taps.

Congressman Derrick Van Orden was also in attendance, recognizing Wisconsinites who made the ultimate sacrifice such as John Bud Daum of Marshfield who died in 1944 during World War II.

“He parachuted into Normandy on June 6th. He was killed two days later. He was 20 years old. He never had a family. But he has a legacy,” said Rep. Van Orden. “We mourn. But there is glory in the sacrifice that our men and women have given for us. So we can stand here today. As free Americans.”

There was also a parade before the ceremony.
